Hey friends,
I’ve been a fan of Katie Dreke’s brain for some time now. First on Twitter (👋), more recently on LinkedIn. She has a unique ability of combining innovative business and marketing thinking with what i can only describe as a tremendous sense of personal and collective compassion. We need more of those cocktails of skills, IMHO.
So, i thought i’d shoot Katie a few questions, and this is what she had to say.
How would you describe your job to someone outside your industry?
Ask a lot of questions. Pay attention to a lot of different things. Orient organizations and collectives towards a shared meaningful future. Craft a practical map to guide them on their journey with appropriate speed, trajectory and intent.
What would i need to know about your history to understand who you are today?
PNW native. Voracious sci-fi reader. Sport nut. Tree hugger. Expat. Solar powered. Gen X. Deadhead.
What is something you deeply believe but may never be able to prove?
Sentient life elsewhere in the universe. 👾
[ed note: same.]
What's a quote or lyric that summarises how you feel about your life so far?
“We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art - the art of words.” – Ursula K Le Guin
What would you like to be remembered for?
Generosity. Big ideas. A high bar. Open arms. An easy laugh.
Who in your social feeds or email newsletters deserves more attention?
Heidi Hackemer. Dré Labre. Karin Fyhrie. Patricia Klein.
What's one thing you wish i had asked you?
What would you like your next 10 years to look like?
Thanks Katie!
